2.28.13 - Coach Mike Harmon was recently promoted to Black Belt! After winning the No Gi World Championships at Brown Belt back in the Fall, Mike paid a holiday visit to his home town of Boston. There Mike was awarded the coveted rank of black belt by his long time instructor, Dave Ginsberg. As most of you know, the black belt is something that takes a very long time and a extreme amount of dedication to earn. So I am very proud to say that now we have not just one, but TWO black belts on the mat at Raptor BJJ! Congratulations, Mike!
- Sam Edmonson recently competed in a tournament near Dallas. Sam competed in both the gi (purple belt) and no-gi (expert) divisions, taking silver in both! This was Sam's first tournament after a long layoff, and he showed an incredible display of technique and composure. Congratulations, Sam!
- Weeknight classes have been moved up to 6pm-7:30pm instead of 7pm-8:30pm. So if you were having trouble getting to class because of the later time slot, see if this one works better for you! We're hoping to increase our exposure to the "dinner crowd" at the gym and get more people signed up for class.
